Oh I can do this hunt. I am a bit of a nut about light fixtures. This one is from the best place in Seattle to grab a mojito - Havana in Capitol Hill.

It's been done a million times before much better than this, but I still like this over-exposed, blown out freeway shot. Maybe because I took it at the dog park.

I know it's cliched and tired, but my friends bring me vast amounts of comfort. Without each and every one of them I would be an unhinged crazy person. They are my laughter, my tears, my frustration, and my energy. I don't think I can explain it right, but there it is: my comfort.

Simple beauty takes my breath away. I'm not talking beauty in the traditional sense - you look at a model and expect her to be beautiful. What you can't expect is something mudane and commonplace to be beautiful. Like this flower, which was nestled along the side of Denny Way, surrounded by dying dandelions. I found it striking, so I took it's photo. And now I can remember that moment of awe when I saw the late afternoon sun illuminating something unexpectedly beautiful.
